Since power belongs to God (Psalm 62:11) and Acts 5:4 reveals that the Holy Spirit is God, children of God must submit to Holy Spirit so that he can lead them and give them the power to tread on serpents and scorpions and all the power of the enemy and to also do exploits for God, and Luke 10:19 gives a deeper understanding of it, and I want to carefully read through the entire article as I share it with you in details.

Here is the Biblical explanation of Luke 10:19.

” Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

According to the first part of the scripture given above, ” Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy”, this means that God has given you the power to subdue, bind, bring into subjection, and render powerless every serpent and scorpion, and all the power of the enemy. Serpents and scorpions refer to demonic powers that work against people, and the enemy is referred to in the scripture as the devil. This means that God has given you the power to tread on all the power of the devil, and you can exercise this power with the help of the Holy Spirit.

” And nothing shall by any means hurt you.”, this second part of the scripture means that nothing will by any means hurt you because the power of God will protect you, and to ensure that nothing hurts you, he (God) gives charge to his angels to keep you in all your ways so that you won’t be hurt by the enemy’s power. In Ephesians 6:12, one of the entities that children of God wrestle against is known as “Powers”, Powers are a class of angels who fell with Lucifer and work with him, this class of angels are also with God, and they are the ones that God will command to keep you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11).
